The second installment of the Washington State Walleye Circuit was held on May 21st and 22nd at beautiful Banks Lake. Team Fetha Styx and 88 other teams were on hand to compete for the title of Banks Lake Champion. This year’s tourney would prove to be extremely competitive as the fish were still spawning in certain areas due to low water temps and a colder than normal spring.

Team Fish Happens IFA Tournament Report — Venice, LA

Tournament stop number two for the team is the Inshore Fishing Association’s Louisiana Division in Venice, LA. Venice is the heart of the offshore fishing industry in Louisiana. It is one of the neatest places I have ever had the opportunity to fish. It’s a place where you can fish a stretch of shoreline and catch saltwater fish like a redfish then make one turn on the shoreline and catch large-mouth bass.

We will start with the West Point tournament where I am very pleased with my performance. If you read my pre-tournament blog you know I had a lot of confidence going into that event. The shad were spawning and nothing gets me more excited than that time of year. I also had figured out an afternoon bite that turned out to be pretty strong.

The 2011 Washington State Walleye Circuit got underway last weekend at Potholes reservoir with the Rod Meseberg Spring Walleye Classic. This tournament is the first of five that are held throughout the state. After a long winter and armed with new proto-type Homewater walleye series rods, Jeff and I were extremely excited for the tournament season to get underway.

Andy Montgomery fished the Bassmaster Elite Series Pride of Georgia stop in fine form this past weekend. After Day 2, Andy sat in fourth place, well above the cut line and primed for another top-ten finish. Andy fought hard on Days 3 and 4 against changing water conditions to finish ninth with a total weight of 52-11.
