The 2011 summer season in Southeast Alaska was one for the ages. Since my last update in early July the king fishing stayed red hot and didn’t slow down until the last week of the season. Those lucky enough to make it up to Waterfall Resort this season were truly spoiled with 10+ king days common from June through August.
Last year, Fetha Styx had a great time at the Vern Eide Steelhead Derby — it really is a great event! Hawg Quest gives us a peek into the story behind the event and what it means to the Lewiston, ID community.
I completely switched gears over to the Potholes Reservoir to catch walleye, bass, and trout. The weather and the fishing has had it’s ups and downs, but that’s why I head east this time of year. With all the different waterways to fish and different species of fish there is ALWAYS a bite going on somewhere within a 30 minute drive. Also: now booking summer run steelhead and king salmon trips!
