The fishing is going strong over here on the Snake River. Side-drifting eggs is the method of choice for this fishery this year. We have been catching a lot of hatchery and native fish … both steelhead and king salmon. I now have October 22 and 23 as open dates!

The rain dance sure did work this time! Starting in a day or two, and once the rivers drop back into shape, the 2011 coho season should be in full force! Then I’m off to the Snake River to chase around feisty summer-run steelhead and up-river bright chinook salmon! Be sure to catch Bonner’s full report….

While the 2011 Bassmaster Elite Series wrapped up just months ago, it’s not too early to focus on the 2012 edition of the competition, for which Andy Montgomery qualified by finishing 41st in the Angler of the Year standings for 2011.
