Bonner was on the Potholes Reservoir last weekend, catching trophy bass and walleye.
I will start off with the mother nature report: calm one minute, raining the next with hurricane like winds right after that, and finally the sunshine decides to make an appearance…but with all that weather came the fish.
After a Hawaiian vacation, Bonner Daniels is back in business! Bonner gets us caught up:
Washington and Oregon rivers are full of big, bright, chrome fish these days — springer salmon, late-run hatchery steelhead, and native steelhead!
Bonner expects the steelhead fishing to continue on a strong note now through mid-April, get on the water with him and his Fetha Styx rods!
Expect some good winter-run steelhead for the next few months, despite all the river closures in Washington. In fact, it’s Bonner’s favorite time in the steelhead cycle!
Bonner checks in as we turn the page into February. The steelhead have still been hot and the huge natives will be arriving in greater numbers every day!
Bonner’s still landing hatchery steelhead, but it’s time to gear up for the trophy natives starting to come in!
Bonner’s been all over steelhead — despite the weather — and fully expects more surges of hatchery steelhead, as well as the start of early winter-run natives.
