While fishing with Fetha Styx pro staff guide Kurt Ferse, John Powell landed a giant halibut off the coast of Noyes Island in SE Alaska this summer while fishing out of Waterfall Resort.
The summer season in Southeast Alaska is nearly upon us and Fetha Styx and Waterfall Resort veteran guide Kurt Ferse are teaming up again to fish the bountiful waters off Prince of Wales Island. After an exceptional 2011 season which saw incredible numbers of Kings from opening day in early June, to closing day in late August, excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season has never been higher.
Even though mother nature may not realize it, the calendar does say May and for me, May is when it really gets fun living here in the NW. Gone are the dark and rainy days of winter. May, for me, represents Spring time, long days, and opportunity on the water. Don’t let this summer pass you by — get out there and enjoy it.
