Summer . . . well I think it’s summer, but I’m still not sure. Actually the weather from a fisherman’s point of view has been excellent.
The Skykomish River opening day fishing report. The water WAS a beautiful, deep green in the upper river, and little more colored up the lower you went, with the color coming from the Wallace and Sultan rivers and the river …
Todd’s found solid springer action in the Columbia system…and is getting excited for the Snohomish opening (June 1) with 15,000 kings and summer-run steelies coming through!
Expect some good winter-run steelhead for the next few months, despite all the river closures in Washington. In fact, it’s Bonner’s favorite time in the steelhead cycle!
Bonner checks in as we turn the page into February. The steelhead have still been hot and the huge natives will be arriving in greater numbers every day!
Bonner’s been all over steelhead — despite the weather — and fully expects more surges of hatchery steelhead, as well as the start of early winter-run natives.
December has been cold and interesting, but most exciting is the arrival of steelhead! Yup, Todd’s gearing up fast for steelhead season, check out his report here.
